as they say.
Female anthems, women
dancing to the rhythm of her
shouts, retelling their
worth to all who had forgotten
or pretended, for long, to not know.
She still sangs and moves
with just as strong a confidence
and I just hope
little girls follow
for little boys who pretend not
to have been taught
by the same women who used to dance to the songs that
talked about their worthiness
as female.
