Years of digging, picking,
putting up with the
sting and everlasting scars
from the slap of whip to
black backs, images of heads
being ripped from their bodies,
dropped onto the ground. Bodies
disappeared during attempts
to express opinions that could
change such treatment for good.
After years of being placed in the
same dirt spaces as all alike-
loaners choosing to operate
under the favor of one color only.
After a racist power has made them
seem unable, unworthy, and invalid,
is it not safe to say that they
may indeed be capable,
even a little bit?
